About Neighbourly Pottery
My Journey
Hello and thank you for visiting my site! My name is Johanna and I am the one-woman show behind Neighbourly Pottery
I began pottery in early 2017 after suffering some health interruptions. I decided a creative outlet would be healing and so I gifted myself pottery lessons for my birthday that year. After taking an 8-week course at the Vernon Community Arts Centre, I just couldn’t stop going. I credit the generous, fun, and friendly atmosphere there with my positive start!
In 2018 I started selling my work to family and friends and I decided on the name Neighbourly Pottery. The name ‘neighbourly’ started as a kind of mundane joke between friends but then I fell in love with everything about the term. It seems like a good time in our world to glorify neighbourliness. My pottery is my ‘neighbourly’ offering.
I design my pottery with beauty, simplicity, and quality in mind. I want my pieces to be the ones you reach for in your cupboard - the ones you like to cradle and trust to go back to again and again. If my pottery allows ease of use, and brings joy to your everyday life, I am happy!
Thank you for being here.
